A Felt Leaf Wreath for Fall
CRAFTSSSSSSS. That’s what I internally yelled upon walking into Joann Fabrics yesterday. The whole front of the store is packed with fun Fall and Halloween décor and I wanted one of everything. Lucky for my wallet, I already had a Fall craft in mind – a felt leaf wreath. Today I’m going to show you how to make this colorful craft.
This DIY was inspired by this wreath from Target and this wreath on Etsy. I don’t know about you, but I’m not super into “farmhouse” décor. It’s easy to find other design styles most of the year, but for some reason it seems like farmhouse is the only option for Fall décor. This felt leaf wreath is a fresh little pop of color in a sea of white pumpkins and chalkboards advertising fresh apples. It’s also pretty easy. It takes more time than talent to create, so keep reading to find out how to make your own felt leaf wreath.
Materials
Directions
- Cut out leaf shapes in each color of felt. Each leaf is about 3 inches long by 2 inches wide. You can layer the felt to cut multiple leaves at one time. I used about 50 leaves for a 12 in frame.
- Cut 4 inch pieces of wire for each leaf.
- Pinching the end of a leaf, put wire in the crease and add hot glue. I put a book on this end until the hot glue dried.
- When you have finished gluing the wires on each leaf, it will look like each leaf has a stem.
- Wrap each wire stem around the wreath frame, alternating colors as you go.
- Fluff the leaves as needed and hang your new felt leaf wreath!
I got the felt and wire frame at Joann Fabrics. There were sooo many colors to choose from, so find the ones that suit your style best! Be sure to tag me on Instagram if you make a felt leaf wreath.
