Pivoting for Week 3 of the ORC

one room challenge

We have had a frustrating week of renovations over here. Despite ordering materials ahead of time, we are pivoting for week 3 of the ORC. The in-stock tile that I ordered over a month ago is suddenly no longer in stock. I let myself have a meltdown for about 3 minutes before researching where to buy pink 4 x 4 tiles. Unfortunately they are hard to find, especially within our budget. B&W Tile carries the classic mid century pink tiles, but they are priced WAY out of our budget. I ended up finding these tiles from a google search and ordered a sample immediately. The sample should arrive this week, so cross your fingers for us!

We are really hoping that the tile issue does not set us back too much. Of course, we would like to finish the One Room Challenge on time, but we also have guests visiting in June. It would be ideal to have two working bathrooms when they visit! Below is a list of everything we have left to do, as well as all the materials we are using in this bathroom. If you are planning on renovating a bathroom, my suggestion is to get your materials way ahead of time, but also prepare for something to go wrong. Despite all my careful planning, we are still working through issues. Make a plan A, B, and C!

As always, thank you for visiting the blog. I appreciate all the support and encouragement as we complete these big projects. We will continue to learn from our mistakes and share what we learn so you don’t make the same ones! Make sure you check out all the other One Room Challenge participants. There are over 500 people participating this season! And thank you to the ORC and Apartment Therapy for hosting. We might be pivoting for week 3, but we plan to finish strong!
