Vintage Pink Bathroom Mood Board
After teasing this renovation for months, I am finally ready to share our vintage pink bathroom mood board. This has been in the works for over a year now and we are so excited to get started! For those who are new here, our vintage pink bathroom had likely not been touched since the 1960s. While we were so grateful to have the original bathroom, we quickly realized how many issues come with 60-year-old fixtures. The bathroom is falling apart before our eyes and it is time to put it back together! Just by chance, our renovation timeline coincided with the Spring One Room Challenge. So welcome to week 1! The vintage pink bathroom mood board and all my thoughts on the renovation are below, so keep reading!
Before we get into the future of this room, let’s quickly talk about why we are renovating. The bathroom was originally not very high on our renovation priorities. That is, until it started to crumble. We were hoping to get another year out of this bathroom, but we had to adjust the timeline when the tiles started popping off the walls and growing black mold. I feel very fortunate to have a second full bathroom in our house, but we can’t live with black mold. Nor should anyone! You know the saying “is it a cold or is it Covid?” We say “is it a cold or is it Covid or is it black mold.” It’s time to fix that. In addition to the tile issue, we have some water pressure problems. Our plumber will be replacing all the original plumbing once we demo the room. I am looking forward to better water pressure and more peace of mind regarding our pipes.
Now that you know the reason for the renovation, I am excited to share our vision for the room! AKA, the reason you all are here. While little details may change, this vintage pink bathroom mood board will serve as our guide while we renovate. There are so many details to consider when you renovate a room, so I like to put together a mockup to help visualize the final product. It helps me decide what items to purchase and prevents future buyer’s remorse. All the sources will be linked below the mood board.

We chose this look because it feels like a nice combination of vintage and modern. As much as I love mid century, I want modern functionality in my home. Hopefully these finishes will last another 60 years! Demo Day will be this weekend and I will keep you all updated on our progress here and on Instagram. We learned a lot during our first bathroom renovation, so we are ready for round two. Thank you so much for reading and come back soon for updates! Also please be sure to check out the other participants in the One Room Challenge. I can’t wait to see what everyone is doing this round!
