A Between Seasons Window Box
Even though it’s currently 95 degrees and humid outside, I can’t stop thinking about Fall. Or maybe that’s WHY I’m thinking about Fall. It is by far my favorite season and I do not care if that makes me basic. I embrace all things basic during this season…except Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Those things taste like chemicals. Anyways, my mom visited this weekend and we stopped by A.C. Moore because all their Fall decor was on sale. I cleaned up you guys! On top of the sale, they were offering 25% off your purchase for new customers. Cue me prancing around the store to fill up my cart.
I got leaf garlands, faux pumpkins, a craft wreath, and some other random doodads. The average person would wait until at least Labor Day to decorate, but I used said doodads to make a between seasons window box. My window box still had some greenery (RIP Marigolds) so I twisted in a leaf garland and stuck some pumpkins between the surviving plants. Lastly, I added a couple little stem decorations to give it more depth and texture. So easy and inexpensive!
You could also use this idea for a planter or pot if you don’t have a window box. Or you could take the same idea and use it indoors. An old basket or pot would look great stuffed with some leaves and pumpkins! And when it gets closer to Halloween, you can remove the greens to add gourds, a skeleton, or maybe spider webs. Here’s to hoping that the weather cooperates and it starts to feel like Fall soon!
