Fall 2020 Bucket List

When the pandemic started back in March, I fully believed that it would never last through the Fall. Call me either short-sighted or optimistic, but I didn’t want to think about spending my favorite season in quarantine. But here we are. Rather than let the current state of the world get me down, I tried to think of all the things we have to look forward to this upcoming Autumn season. Welcome to my Fall 2020 Bucket List!

Fall Mantle Decor
  1. Decorate the House – This is first because I’m most excited about it. When do you put up Fall/Halloween decor? My stuff will be going up the week after Labor Day!
  2. Try a New Chili Recipe – Chili is my all-time favorite food, but I always stick with my go-to recipe. If you have a good chili recipe, send it this way please!
  3. Watch a Spooky New ShowThe Haunting of Bly Manor is coming to Netflix in October and looks sufficiently terrifying. It’s from the creators of The Haunting of Hill House!
  4. Tailgate at Home for a Football Game – No fans at the games this year? No problem! There has never been a better excuse to stay home, make some food, and watch football! Bear down!
  5. Have a bonfire – Colin and I just got a Solo Stove and it’s awesome. It uses some kind of technology or magic to minimize the smoke and ash. We can’t wait to use it more now that the weather has cooled off.
  6. Bake and cook with seasonal produceFall flavors are my absolute favorite and I can’t wait to bake some apple treats and cook lots of squash dishes. I can feel the coziness!
  7. Leef Peep – This is the perfect social distancing activity! My preferred spot to leaf peep is in Door County, WI, but you can check the Farmer’s Almanac for the best time for foliage color near you.
  8. Tour de Oktoberfest – The Marzen style Oktoberfest beer is one of my favorites and I always look forward to it as Fall approaches. Maybe it’s just me, but I have noticed more Oktoberfest style beers at the store than ever this year. So I thought it would be fun to try a bunch and pick out the best!
  9. Find My Ideal Fall Candle – “Fall candle” can have so many different scents. There are the sweet scents like apple pie and snickerdoodle, a million versions of pumpkin, and the more nature inspired scents like teakwood and leaves. My personal preference is more of a campfire smell with a hint of pumpkin. Basically I want my house to smell like I’m baking pumpkin bread with the windows open on a crisp Fall day. Nothing too sweet! What is your favorite Fall candle?!
  10. Watch My Favorite Seasonal Movies – It wouldn’t be Fall without classics like Hocus Pocus and You’ve Got Mail. Check out my full list of movies to watch this Fall here.
  11. VOTE! – And for a bonus item – go vote!! If you aren’t registered yet, you can start here.
bucket list for fall

This season is going to look a bit different than we’re used to, but there is still SO much to get excited about! The weather dipped into the 70’s last weekend and this Autumn fanatic immediately lit a Fall scented candle and bought some pumpkin beer. Bring. It. On! We may be socially distanced this year, but let’s take time to lean into all the things that give us those amazing Fall feelings. I hope this list gives you some inspiration for your own Fall 2020 Bucket List!
