Mid Century Pink Bathroom Reveal

one room challenge

Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 | Week 7

If you have found me through the One Room Challenge, welcome friend! My name is Bridget Holladay and I live in the Chicago suburbs with my husband, Colin, and our rescue dog, Rigby. We bought our 1958 ranch house in December of 2019 and have had so much fun renovating it on a budget. This is our 3rd One Room Challenge and you can find our other projects here – Mid Century Inspired En Suite and A Fully Handmade Office. In between renovations, I post DIY crafts, recipes, and holiday content. Thank you for stopping by my corner of the internet. I hope you’ll stay awhile!

After two years of talking about renovation plans and just over 10 weeks of actual renovations, it is time to reveal our mid century pink bathroom! This makeover lined up with the Spring 2022 One Room Challenge, and we couldn’t be more grateful for all the support from fellow participants. It has been a sprint to the finish line these last couple weeks, but we now have a brand new bathroom! I want to give a shout out to the official media partner, Apartment Therapy, for sponsoring the ORC 10 year anniversary, as well as all the other sponsors. This event fuels so much creativity and connection through design, and I love being part of the community.

Since you aren’t here to listen to me ramble about our mid century pink bathroom reveal, I will keep it brief. But prior to the before and after photos, I want to share a quick overview of the work done throughout the renovation. It takes a lot of work to make a room beautiful! All of our design choices were made so that we could keep the pink bathtub. We tried so hard to keep the pink sink as well, but it didn’t work out. Here is everything we did over the last 8 weeks:

Once again, thank you so much to everyone who has followed along with this renovation process. And to all my friends who live close, we can’t wait to have you over! Additionally, there are so many people who participated in this season of the One Room Challenge, and I encourage you to go check out their work. I can’t wait to pour a glass of wine and read through all the amazing renovations. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to take a soak in our cute pink tub!

I know that I’m just the mom, but I couldn’t be prouder of my kids who have accomplished so much in such a short space of time. I love the new/ old look that they continue to create in their home. The pink guest bathroom is charming and fits in so well with their other renovations. Colin, your craftsmanship is unmatched, and Bridget, you certainly have an eye for detail and sticking to your mid-century motif. Can’t wait to see the next project! Great job.

What a glow up! After the tile fiasco that you guys had to endure, I am so happy you got the bathroom you desired! Those pink tiles are the perfect nod to the past with a modern twist. My fav part is the song glow up! Simply fabulous!
